i was there with he who does not like to be named (that would be joel) checking out a photographic studio. it was better than could be hoped. we will begin to use it next week. then after mastering the techniques of studio lighting we shall produce work of a reasonable quality.
so enjoy these picutres of what has been called manhatten on the thames.
i love canary wharf i think it is a gorgeous building. i love the area (if only for all the suited and booted office women there).
i used to go watch the basketball at london arean just a short walk from where the pictures are taken. the night of the canary wharf bomb i was running to see a game and that meant running towards the bomb. i was very very close when it went off. the game went on, but it was pants.

this is very much an henri moment. i like it. would win prizes, if they were given out to such photos.

Did no-one hassle you about taking photos? I regularly see people told to sod off by security. There aren't signs up telling you but you are on private property and photos without prior arrangement are a n-no. Tourists get ever so confused.
And, it is also funny that you should say Manhattan on Thames. In a pub on Fleet Street yesterday lunchtime a very loud American said that he would go back home if the offices moved out to the Docklands - no different to being in Manhattan or Toronto.
more and more it is getting harder to take pics in public spaces.
there seems to be several threads to it
1] terrorism.... oh yeah like a picture is going to make that much difference.
2] the frenzy drummed up by the sun et al that everyone who has a camera in a public space might be taking pictures of kids for naughty purposes. (ignoring all the nappy ads that are on tv - well i am assuming that they are still on tv because i don't watch tv).
so it can be very hit and miss if you can get a snap off.
wow, really nice, but not as nice as the building up in capital city - Nottingham!
Get your camera out and show us then Jay!
